What is the FVSG?
Referral Center
Status of Trials
Next Meeting
This association was first created in 1981 by Professor Loïc Guillevin, then Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Avicenne Hospital in Bobigny (a northern suburb of Paris; 93009), with the help of Geneviève Leroux and Geneviève Bertrand-Desvages, and was called the Association for Research on Necrotizing Angiitides (ARAN),.

The name FVSG was used in the first publications of results obtained in therapeutic trials, and became official with the establishment of the new bylaws in August 2003 (modified in November 2005; composition of Administrative Board).

In November 2004, Professor Guillevin's Department of Internal Medicine was officially designated a National Reference Center for Necrotizing Vasculitides and Systemic Sclerosis. The exact title was modified in 2007 to: Referral Center Group I, Rare Systemic Diseases and Autoimmune Diseases, Necrotizing Vasculitides and Systemic Sclerosis.

This designation confers a role in the coordination of the network for managing patients with these diseases in France, in cooperation with the other centers comprising Group I.

Except for the REMAIN page, which is available in English and has been updated, other pages on the active trials in France are in French. The English version is coming soon in...
